This year was a combined display between the three Tickford / FPV clubs and the HSV Owners club. We also had a change of scenery - instead of the dusty area where we displayed our cars last year, we found ourselves under the trees in Rymill Park. It was still the same old routine though - Maccas for breakfast, meet outside by 7.00am, let the HSV’s in first, set up the displays, Wake Up.

After claiming the back row of the grandstand, there was not much more to do until the racing started.

Race 1 (Sat) - Well we can’t ask for a better result than FORD 1 (Ambrose), 2 (Ingall), 3 (Lowndes), and 4(Johnson).

Race 2 (Sun) - It would have been great if I had the opportunity to see it! I decided to stay with the cars, and wouldn’t you know it - about 40mins into the race the Generator ran out of petrol and my TV went blank. It turns out that there was petrol in the back of one of the cars but did I think to ring someone - NO. Ahh well it sounded good. Anyway the results: FORD 1 (Ambrose) and 3 (Lowndes) with Scaife 2nd (makes up for the fact he never finished on Sat).

Once again Thanks to Ford for the opportunity to attend and also to the XR6 / XR8 Owners club for passing on their unused tickets. And while I’m saying thankyou we must make mention of the HSV Owners for cooking Breakfast on Sunday Morning. Maybe we can continue the tradition next year.
