Mystery Cruise 1

Previous 2004 Event Stories Next

Ever wanted to know what it's like to eat lunch in a Sauna - well next time we advertise a mystery cruise - come along and find out. The temperature in Adelaide had been around 42deg C the previous day. Sunday was not going to be that much cooler. We were told it would be around trip of about 300Kms and we would be heading North with the first stop after about an hour. Fuel / Drink stop was Port Wakefield and then it was on to the Copper Triangle (Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta). Lunch would have been perfect if it wasn't for two things.

1. We ended up at Port Hughes and decided to have lunch at the Tavern, unfortunately about 60 other people had decided to celebrate a wedding anniversary at the same venue, and

2. They could not crank up the Air conditioning in fear of "blacking-out" the whole town. It got to the stage where we went outside (in 40 deg heat) to cool down.

Must admit though - apart from the heat, it was a good afternoon - Well done Adrian and Mandy
