July General Meeting Special Guest: Simon Wills

It was good to see such a good turn out for the July General meeting. If you didn't get there Steve (Events) had arranged a guest in V8 Supercar Team BOC driver Simon Wills.

Simon introduced himself to the club by telling us a bit about his Motorsport career. From getting his start in Karts and Formula Ford in New Zealand, to a stint in Formula 3 in England, back to Australia and winning the Australian Drivers Championship in Formula Holden, and onto his start in V8 Supercars, Team Dynamic and finaly the oppourtunity with Team BOC.

Simon then invited the members to ask any questions, and answered qustions on various topics including driver fitness, costs associated with running a V8 Supercar team, and the importance of TV coverage for all teams in obtaining sponsorship.

To wrap up the meeting Chris announced that Simon had agreed to join the club as an honoury member and to act as the clubs V8 ambassador, and presented Simon with a club polo and cap.

On behalf of all club members the committee would like to welcome Simon and his partner Charlene to the club.
